Sunlife donates portion of income to Piolo's foundation

SUN LIFE Financial Philippines is donating five percent of the gross sales of its new product, the P. A. TXT cards, to the Hebreo Foundation, a non-profit organization founded by Piolo Pascual and his siblings which helps poor yet deserving children in schools.
Riza Mantaring, president and chief executive officer of Sun Life Financial Philippines, said in a press forum that their latest product, an insurance for personal accidents that can be activated through a text message, is one way of helping beneficiaries of the foundation.
Mantaring said the Sun Life Financial Philippines, an insurance company, said the company thought of helping the foundation because it has also helped secure the future of Filipinos for 115 years now. "Aside from making business out from securing the future of the Filipinos, Sun Life also envisioned to help those in need and that is why we supported Hebreo Foundation," she said.
Greg Martin, chief strategic marketing officer of Sun Life Financial Philippines, said each card costs P50 with one already ensured for P50,000 for personal accident insurance. He said the maximum amount for individual policy is P100,000 which is equivalent to every two cards.
"For every P.A. TXT card, one is already entitled to have a P50,000 personal accident insurance which is good for one whole year upon purchase. The P.A. TXT cards are paper-less and hassle-free personal accident insurance that can be easily activated through a mobile phone," Martin said.
In a statement of Sun Life Financial Philippines, the P.A. TXT cards are needed insurance in case of accidents. The collectible P.A. TXT cards also come in various 12 limited designs which photos of it were taken by Piolo Pascual himself during his travels in the country and abroad.
The Sun Life Financial Philippines also recently donated a check P584,352 which came from the proceeds of SunPIOLOgy 2010, a desktop calendar produced by Sun Life Financial that features Pascual's first photography collection. The 2011 SunPIOLOgy edition will also be in the market soon in which the Hebreo Foundation remains the beneficiary.
